I started my professional career with the U.S. Navy serving six years in the Seabees. I deployed four times overseas to various locations in Spain, Afghanistan, Africa, Croatia, and Japan. I graduated spring 2020 at Heritage University(HU) with a major in History and a minor in Literature. I also work as a writing tutor at HU and enjoy my job helping students pursue their academic goals.
Native social movements such as, M.M.I.W and NoDAPL have struck a sense of intellectual curiosity as to why these moments happen. History not only helps me understand the social complexities of being Native in America. History has taught me to consider the diverseness of the nation. Looking at the past we can encapsulate a new understanding of the world around us.
Aside from my studies I enjoy beading, sewing, painting, and powwow dancing.
